Women's Empowerment educates and empowers women experiencing homelessness with the skills and confidence necessary to get a job, create a healthy lifestyle, and regain a home for themselves and their children.

WE has helped thousands of women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. WE is a vital organization that is making a real difference in the lives of women in Sacramento.

History

WE was founded in 1999 by a group of women who were concerned about the growing problem of homelessness in Sacramento. The organization was originally called Women's Transitional Housing, and its mission was to provide temporary housing and support services to women who were homeless.

In 2004, WE changed its name to Women's Empowerment to reflect its broader mission of helping women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to achieve self-sufficiency.

Mission
