We've been obsessed with educating ourselves on the matter as well as ensuring that our products and packaging are either 100% recyclable or compostable.
As part of our research, we found out that only 9% of plastic waste is recycled...so 91% ends up in landfills and our oceans (possibly in a whale's stomach or choking a tortoise!). Naturally, we found this absolutely shocking. Therefore, we decided that we had to know that at the very least, our products did not contribute to this 91% of non-recycled plastic.
In order to guarantee that our products are actually recycled, we've created our own closed-loop recycling system. So, our used products & packaging can be sent back to us for recycling. We understand that this is not the perfect solution but to be honest, it is better than nothing. We are not stopping at this solution however, we are always working on ways to make our products and operations more eco-friendly so please bear with us; but as usual, please do email us with our suggestions. Our greatest teachers have always been our customers since we started and we believe that with you is where the greatest knowledge lies.
