The seeds of Maayu were planted when founder Sonal's teenage daughter was diagnosed with PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease). This personal experience led Sonal on a journey to find answers, and she discovered the widespread use of harmful chemicals and synthetic fibers in the clothing industry, particularly in intimate wear.

Recognizing the potential health risks, she was inspired to create an alternative: a line of undergarments that are free from toxins, chemical dyes, and synthetic materials. Maayu was born from this mission to provide a safer, healthier choice for a person's most intimate clothing. The name itself, "Maayu," is a blend of "Maa" (Hindi for mother) and "you," embodying the qualities of motherhood—love, protection, and care.
