Intro
Hi everyone, and welcome back to the Social Property Investment online learning series with Amy Varle. In this video, we're going to be talking about the results of the Pilot Scheme. This scheme was designed to test the feasibility of using social property investment to provide affordable housing for low-income families.
Overview
"So the tenants we worked with in the social property investment pilot scheme came from all walks of life. We had people who were rough sleeping, people who were living in bed and breakfasts, people who were sofa surfing, and people who were living with their parents. We also had a lot of domestic violence victims."
"We decided to group the tenants into similar types of environments. For example, we had a property for domestic violence victims, a property for young homeless females, and a property for refugees."
"The domestic violence property was a great success. The women were able to rebuild their lives and create a sense of community. The young homeless females property was not as successful. The girls had a lot of social issues, and they needed more support than we were able to provide. The refugee property was also a success. The refugees were grateful for the housing, and they were able to start rebuilding their lives."
"Overall, the 2:3 Pilot Scheme was a success. We were able to provide affordable housing to 100 families, and the tenants were very happy with their homes. We are now planning to expand the scheme to provide housing to even more families."
Varle, Amy
The results of the pilot scheme were very positive. We were able to provide affordable housing to 100 families, and the tenants were very happy with their homes. The scheme also generated a profit, which will be used to fund future projects.
